Over the last 3 and a half years this website has grown enormously. It is now a very worthwhile part of GINs operation, it:
As a web/greyhound enthusiast you will probably have noticed that we could improve the website on many levels. However, it now takes all of my spare time just to keep up with the incoming documents. Sometimes I don't keep up. The website now needs some serious infrastructure and administration reworking (and so does my personal life!). The volume of work is overwhelming for one person, it needs to be structured so that it can be worked on by a team.
My goal is to divide the website maintenance into logical units, with a volunteer being responsible for doing all the work required within a specific area. Some parts of the website require more or less work than others, I want everyone to have a workload that is sustainable. Together we can hopefully process work more quickly, attend to the niceties, make the website more maintainable, and, with enough of us pulling together we should all be able to have a 'life' too.
These are the key things we need. Can you:
Within GIN we all have to fit in our voluntary work in and around our full time jobs and domestic responsibilities, so we understand that flexibility is the key. The other side of this is that we all have to be honest if we won't have time to do something for a few days, or if our situation changes.
If you would like to be involved, send an e-mail to me, Jill, telling me a bit about yourself.
Thank you.
